About Me

"Who wants to become a writer? And why? Because it's the answer to everything. It's the streaming reason for living. To note, to pin down, to build up, to create, to be astonished at nothing, to cherish the oddities, to let nothing go down the drain, to make something, to make a great flower out of life, even if it's a cactus". (Enid Bagnold)

Blogging might not be the answer to everything but beanbag tales has provided me a space 'to note, to pin down and to create'. In this space I talk a lot about books because reading is, I've realised after all these years, what I do best! There are also some snippets about life in Karachi and theatre (hubby dear being an actor and all).

The name 'beanbag tales' was inspired by a beanbag at my nano's (grandmother) house. I have many memories of reading, writing and endless conversations either sitting on or around that beanbag.

Feel free to share the beanbag and its tales. If you're a bibliophile head over to Book Talk where you'll find views and reviews on some books which have caught my fancy or otherwise. There is a continuous book donation drive going on the beanbag at A Book 4 U. And for everything NOT about the reading life, check out Chai Chronicles.
